Glowforge generally provides refurbished replacements for warranty issues so the original manufacture date of this machine you're buying is a complete mystery to both you and the seller.

Many times the cost of a Glowforge but it is MUCH faster more powerful and incredibly durable and well made. Plus the laser tube lasts many years and can be recharged (unlike the disposable Glowforge tubes).

Yes and of all things problems getting it to cut fully through the cardstock. I used the copy paper setting to do the old book page and didn't have any issues. For the black cardstock since I didn't want the glowforge to shake off the table I went down to 300 speed and 20 power but did 3 passes for the cut. With the cardstock stuck to a board with spray adhesive this finally did the trick!

Have you tried the standard proofgrade settings? What thicknesses of material are you trying? The Thick Proofgrade settings typically work for cutting most cast acrylic at 1/4" and Medium Proofgrade for cutting 1/8". Engraving settings will depend on thickness how deep you want to engrave and whether or not it's 1 layer 2 layer or more.

Glowforge is set to full power but is engraving at basically nothing. Solutions? Okay so I engrave on pine.

Glowforge owners are about to find out just how bad their purchasing decision really was especially from an ongoing service prospective.

No. Glowforge is proprietary and uses their servers to process your job. If they go bust your machine is a brick. Internet problem? You can't use it.

Does anyone regret purchasing a Glowforge? I am just curious if anyone has any regrets about purchasing their Glowforge. It seems like such an amazing item and almost all of the reviews seem positive. I am just wondering if this is just brilliant marketing or if the machine is truly as good as it looks.
