The national throughput rate for the matric class of 2025 was 64.4%. The Department of Basic Education currently calculates the throughput rate from Grade 10 to Grade 12.

The closing dates for registration of NSC candidates who wrote the May/June examination is 21 August 2025. The registration requirements are on the reverse side of your Statement of Results.

The Matric class of 2025 has achieved 88% pass rate an increase from last year?s 87.03% and the highest ever in the country?s national senior certificate (NSC) history. The results have just been released by Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube in Randburg north of Johannesburg.
